HIV/Aids question… Please help?

I am a bi-sexual man and had sex with another man about a week ago. The condom broke, which as you can imagine, scared me! I have now got flu, which apparently is an early symptom of having contracted the virus. My muscles and joins hurt, and I have a dry cough too.

The thing is, my brother was sick with the flu a short while ago, and my dad is also sick at the moment with flu. My uncle also has the flu, but he works away during the week, and was away when he got sick. I’m not sure if I got it from them, or if this is really a sign of having gotten the virus?

It is too early to take an HIV/Aids test, and I’m worried. What should I do?

Please, only serious answers.

you can get a rapid hiv test. They are more costly but the test the antibodies much sooner than the other test. The flu like symptoms are signs of hiv, which usually occur a week after the act, but it could really be the flu. If your worried, i would consider the rapid test to ease your mind.

Charlotte: Identify The Symptoms Of Chlamydia

Chlamydia is known as the “silent epidemic”. It is called a Silent Epidemic because 75% of the women and 50% of the men with the disease have no symptoms. Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection amongst young people. It’s dangerous because often it has no symptoms. Chlamydia can cause discharge from the penis.

Their  infections are believed to be the most common of all notifiable STDs. It is generally thought that in a population of 15 million, there are up to 300,000 cases of chlamydia each year. Chlamydia can be easily treated with antibiotics. Because chlamydia and gonorrhea often occur together, people with chlamydia may be treated for both diseases at the same time. Chlamydia bacteria can infect the cervix, rectum or the urethra. Sometimes, it can also infect the throat after performing oral sex.

Chlamydia is a leading cause of early infant pneumonia and conjunctivitis (pink eye) in newborns. Chlamydia, is a curable sexually transmitted disease (STD ) caused by a bacteria called Chlamydia trachomatis. It is estimated that chlamydia is the most prevalent STD with 3 – 4 million new cases each year. Chlamydia and other bacterial STDs are curable with proper diagnosis and treatment.

The early symptoms of chlamydia include- painful intercourse in women, vaginal discharge, penile discharge, difficult urination, etc. Sometimes these symptoms are very mild and are ignored. These symptoms appear after about two weeks of sexual contact. If chlamydia is left untreated it can cause serious complications. In the early stage antibiotics can clear chlamydia within a week or two and you are free of the disease. Afterwards, it becomes a long drawn process to get treated. Therefore it is important that you get treated immediately as soon as you see any symptoms described above. Your doctor will take a swab and test you. If the test is positive, you will be prescribed antibiotics. Let us find out about the later complications.

Symptoms of chlamydia normally occur one to three weeks after infection. However, many people who have chlamydia are unaware that they have the infection. Symptoms of chlamydia may be similar in men and women. Symptoms of Chlamydia infection in the eyes generally occur within 10 days of birth. Although your baby will be alert and aware, his eyes will be irritated and red.

Symptoms of chlamydia can lead to occurence of cancer.  Symptoms of chlamydia are vague, mainly an unusual vaginal discharge, and 70 percent of women don’t have any at all that  is why it’s called a ’silent’ infection. Left untreated, chlamydia can cause infertility, so see your doctor  if you’re concerned.

Painful sexual intercourse, burning sensation during urination and fever are also some of its symptoms. Pelvic pain or lower abdominal pain can be an early indicator of pelvic inflammatory disease or PID, one of the leading causes of infertility in women. Pain and swelling in the testicles are uncommon. Pain and inflammation on the testicles are also found in some cases. Both men and women, who received the infection as part of anal sex, are likely to develop rectal pain and bleeding.
